My Process for Automotive Cleaning and Protection
Step #1: Dry Ice Blasting
I blast your vehicle's structural components — frame, axles, and front end — with high-velocity dry ice pellets that sublimate on contact, lifting surface rust, scale, and corrosion without damaging the metal beneath. This service is focused on the bones of your vehicle: the parts that matter most for long-term structural integrity. It's not a full detail clean, and we don't pretend otherwise — it's precision prep for what comes next.
Step #2: Rust Neutralization
Once the surface is clean, I apply a rust neutralizer directly to the bare metal. This converts any remaining oxidation into a stable, inert compound, halting the corrosion process at the surface level and giving the protective coating a solid foundation to bond to.
Step #3: WoolWax Corrosion Protection
I finish with a full application of WoolWax — a petroleum-based corrosion inhibitor that works differently than paint or sealant. Rather than forming a hard shell, WoolWax stays wet and waxy by design.
The coating continuously seeps into seams, crevices, and exposed metal, actively displacing moisture and maintaining a barrier that self-repairs as the vehicle flexes and moves. It's hydrophobic, meaning water beads and runs off rather than sitting on the surface. The finished coating is black and will have a slightly tacky, waxy feel to the touch — a sign it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
